Still Adjusting to the New Normal

Sorry it has been so long since we posted. The first week home we barely remembered our own names, let alone how to access blogger. This past week we have been enjoying getting back into a routine with the new addition to our family. Somehow a mobile 1 year old and time on the computer have not gone together. Ahhh, it's all coming back to me now!

So, here's an update and some pictures from Isabelle's first two weeks home with us. She began crawling about 3 days after we got home. She is very determined and worked so hard to get her arms and legs working together. She is also a bit delusional as she thinks she can walk. So, she pulls up on something and just lets go and lunges forward. She thinks it's funny...mostly because she has yet to hit the floor face first because we are guarding her so closely. Maybe it is a blessing she has no teeth yet. At least there isn't the risk of knocking them out. She is getting stronger and stronger every day. Her Elvis hips are mostly gone and she can stand steadily for the most part. She loves her toys and just loves to be down on the floor playing.

She has been meeting lots of special people in our lives. She sticks closely to one of us, which is so awesome, but I think she is slowly believing that friends and visitors aren't going to take her from us. She is sleeping well, and napping well, and eating very well. She has some little thighs finally developing!

God has richly blessed us and we are so thankful and so humbled by the fact that he would entrust this little life to us. What an honor and privilege. We pray we are up to the task.

  1. Sooo glad that you posted new photos and a new blog entry... I've been checking every day, but to no avail. I totally understand your lack of time though. Delighted to see the update:) Thrilled for you all. Have a great weekend!!
